Luxury vinyl flooring is deeply embossed

Luxury vinyl flooring is deeply embossed

Sheet vinyl is a staple in the budget-friendly flooring market. Luxury vinyl 'takes it up a notch' by adding thickness to the flooring, which can be deeply embossed. Thus, planks and tiles have a more realistic hardwood, stone, and ceramic look than sheets. While sheet vinyl is glued down, luxury vinyl flooring fits together, so the floor floats above the subfloor. You can find the latest vinyl flooring styles at Sunset Flooring in St. George, Utah. We install flooring, too.

Waterproof core

Luxury vinyl resists stains and scratches, and best of all, it’s waterproof. The core layer makes up the majority of the plank or tile. Product specifications often list a WPC or SPC core. Flooring that has a wood plastic composite core or a stone plastic composite core is waterproof. The wood flour-based core includes a foaming agent that provides some comfort underfoot. The limestone-based core is extra tough, and therefore, appropriate for commercial applications.

Plank and tile

The core is just one of the four layers that make up luxury vinyl flooring. In addition to a backing layer, luxury vinyl plank flooring comprises a design layer and a transparent wear layer that protects it. LVP designs mimic a variety of wood species, while designs on LVT flooring can imitate stone or ceramic as well as hardwood. If you desire a wood look in the bathroom, LVP or LVT is ideal. A product with a 20+ mil wear layer stands up to heavy foot traffic.

In addition to a large selection of LVP, LVT, and other flooring types, Sunset Flooring offers window coverings, countertops, sinks, and area rugs. We have been serving St. George, Utah, area since 1991.
